Robert Lerner, AIA, Pvilion Co-Founder and Vice President, has been Principal Investigator on numerous research and development contracts, including three separate solar programs funded by the New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA).  Mr. Lerner led the product development program for the US Department of Defense funded SBIR program to integrate flexible solar panels onto army shade structures.  The products developed under that program remain in production after 15 years, providing shade and power to US military. Mr. Lerner has, additionally, led technology development programs for NASA, and the US Airforce in the area of deployable lightweight structures.
